More than 35 years ago, Mark De Mattei discovered his talent and passion for putting families in the homes of their dreams. Nearly 2,000 happy clients later—many of whom have become our friends and fiercest advocates—De Mattei Construction has become the Bay Area's premier choice for custom homebuilding and remodeling.
Today, The De Mattei Experience lives across all three of his sons who run the business, each offering their own elevation of luxury:
Josh De Mattei – The youngest of the Trio who has spent his time in school learning the trade beyond the bounds of the business.
Zach De Mattei – The oldest son who has worked his way up from being the truck driver learning the ins and outs of everything.
Kyle De Mattei – The middle child who studied real estate and crafted his own understanding of the markets.
Though each point of view a different story, they are united by one vision: to create beautiful, meaningful homes for clients who seek more than just a place to sleep — they seek a feeling, a memory, a moment.

Our History
The story of De Mattei began in 1985, in the quiet town of Los Gatos. At the time, Los Gatos was finding its rhythm — a city quiet, hidden, and full of possibility. It was here that Mark De Mattei, a young college kid with a passion for construction and building relationships, began building fences with is bear hands creating the foundation for this family forever.
With no investors or brand vision — just heart, patience, and a deep appreciation for beauty — Mark restored everything he could with his own hands until his work began to speak for itself. He named it after his future family — De Mattei, a word to him and those around him that is now synonymous with an "exemplary level of craft"
By the late 1990s, De Mattei Construction Inc. had become known as one of the Bay Areas' best-kept secrets — A company passed on by word of mouth catering to an almost elite group of Silicon Valley Residential Enthusiasts with a knack for quality.
