Palo Alto Stanford Heritage Award
12/5/25

De Mattei Construction is proud to announce that in 2021 we were honored with the Palo Alto Stanford Heritage Neighborhood Preservation Award for our work on the historic residence at 352 Stanford Avenue. This recognition reflects our commitment to thoughtful restoration, architectural integrity, and the preservation of Palo Alto’s residential heritage. The award highlights not only the home’s meticulous rehabilitation, but also the sensitivity with which original details were retained, revived, and structurally protected for future generations.
The Stanford Avenue project required a careful balance of technical precision and historical stewardship. From recreating period-appropriate millwork and preserving original façade articulation, to integrating modern systems discreetly and responsibly, our team ensured that the home’s character remained intact while meeting contemporary performance standards. The project demonstrates how preservation and innovation can coexist—keeping architectural history alive while supporting current livability and longevity.
We extend our gratitude to the Palo Alto Stanford Heritage organization for the recognition, and to the skilled partners and craftspeople whose expertise made this restoration possible. The award is a meaningful acknowledgment of De Mattei Construction’s ongoing dedication to protecting the cultural and architectural legacy of the Peninsula.
